Scope

Background
In precision imaging systems accurate control of camera movements is essential. A collimator which simulates a distant target can provide a stable reference point (crosshair) for calibration and movement tracking. By detecting the position of this crosshair the system can calculate the necessary adjustments for the camera lens in pan and tilt directions.
This project involves integrating a collimator with a camera equipped with a pan-tilt lens to develop a system that measures the lenss movement angles based on the crosshairs position. The system will be implemented using framework and the C# programming language.
Goal
The primary goal of this project is to measure the camera angle movement and calibrate it based on the crosshair position in the image. Objectives of the project include:
Integration of Collimator and Camera: Ensure proper alignment and calibration. Angle Calculation: Calculate the movement angles of the camera based on the crosshair position. Implementation: Develop the system framework and C# language.
The research will likely involve developing or refining a prototype experimenting with different system configurations and designing ways to evaluate the systems performance and reliability. The precise focus can evolve depending on which challenges emerge as most significant as well as the expertise and interests of the supervisors. The Expected Outcomes are:
