Join the Pre-Opening Team Director of Engineering
Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort Opening 2026
We are seeking a hands-on and strategic Director of Engineering to lead the technical operations of the Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort a new resort opening in 2026 on Moroccos stunning Atlantic coast.
As part of the pre-opening team you will be responsible for establishing and overseeing all engineering and maintenance functions ensuring the resort opens with world-class safety sustainability and operational standards. You will lead the development of preventative maintenance programs manage capital projects and ensure compliance with local regulations and Marriott brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing and life safety
- Lead capital expenditure planning and execution
- Develop and manage engineering budgets and energy conservation strategies
- Ensure compliance with local national and brand safety and regulatory standards
- Lead emergency response planning and execution
- Supervise construction and ensure timely completion of pre-opening projects
Qualifications:
- Technical training in HVAC-R Electrical or Plumbing
- High school diploma with 6 years of engineering/maintenance experience or a 2-year degree with 4 years of experience
- Proven leadership in hotel engineering or facilities management
- Strong understanding of Moroccan building codes and regulatory requirements
- Fluency in English and French is required
- Experience in hotel pre-openings or new property launches is a strong advantage
