Description
We are looking for a well organised flexible and reliable person to join our premises team as Caretaker. Reporting to the premises manager you will be responsible for caretaking tasks within the school. Experience in a similar role is preferred but we are happy to provide training.
You will have:
the ability to work constructively as part of a team
the ability to relate well to children and to adults
good organising and prioritising skills
the ability to keep accurate records
the ability to work flexibly to suit school needs
good communication skills
the ability to use your initiative
be willing to undertake direction and guidance
be ready to work as part of a team
use time effectively to ensure all spaces are ready for learning.
Main responsibilities and duties include:
key holder for the school unlocking the premises daily
handyperson duties which may include minor repairs to furniture and fixtures
minor decorating tasks
completing legal statutory checks including fire alarms water and temperature checks
taking electricity and water meter readings regularly
emptying bins and accepting deliveries
ensuring the external areas of the school are kept tidy by sweeping leaves picking up litter and carrying out maintenance when necessary
signing in and out contractors correctly
adhere to the health and safety policy at the school at all times.
