A Brief Overview

A Biomedical Engineering Mechatronics Technician must have proven success in continued service of a diverse array of medical electronic equipment with the majority involvement with patient support equipment which includes pneumatic fluid mechanical and electrical addition a Biomedical Engineering Mechatronics Technician must have some understanding of and working knowledge of interconnected systems VLAN isolated networks and IT systems interfaces. Travel is required.

What you will do

  • Work on a diverse array of equipment which includes pneumatic fluid mechanical and electrical systems in a healthcare environment.
  • Repair install maintain calibrate and inspect medical equipment instrumentation and systems of simple to moderate complexity.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of medical equipment devices and systems. Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain documentation on new equipment inspections and equipment repairs and failures. Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction to clinical and operational staff regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Maintain documentation of all service events tests and maintenance performed on biomedical equipment.
  • Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking both the addition and the deactivation of medical equipment.
  • This position will require collaboration between Biomed Plant Operations and the IT departments to perform essential functions.

Preferred Education License/Certification or Work Experience:

  • Associates or military equivalent in electronics technology.
  • Minimum of three years related experience in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
