Job Duties:

Each department at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse maintains an ongoing search to serve as a pool of potential instructors for program needs. If hired from this pool the instructor will be under the general supervision of the relevant department chair. The instructor is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate addition to preparing for and holding classes face-to-face hybrid and/or online teaching involves maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment evaluating students work assessing student outcomes providing regular and substantive feedback on student work maintaining appropriate records and holding office addition workload may involve advising students and/or providing other service to the department. Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.

College of Science & Health (CSH) at the University of WisconsinLa Crosse is the universitys largest college educating more than half of all undergraduates through programs in the natural physical computational mathematical and health sciences. Instructional Academic Staff play an essential role in delivering high-quality student-centered teaching that emphasizes applied learning critical thinking and community engagement. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates classroom online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses including assessment of student performance
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department or significant progress toward a doctorate degree or in rare circumstances post-baccalaureate certification or licensure or a baccalaureate plus experience can be established as appropriate qualifications for the teaching position. Depending on the program specific certification/licensure or clinical experience may be required.
