Job Description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the safe installation maintenance testing troubleshooting and monitoring of equipment and auxiliaries at the Emery Generating Station.

What you will do

Demonstrates knowledge and safe work practices. This requires observing and following safety rules polices and practices encouraging safe work behaviors and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors which may lead to accidents.
Performs a variety of work connected with the operations inspections and maintenance of a combined cycle plant.
May at times be required to work at locations other than Emery Generating Station as needed.
Performs clean-up and preservation tasks throughout the facility.
Utilizes computer applications in performance of duties.
Excellent sense of pride in work ownership and work ethic.
Responsible for the assembly repair and testing of equipment such as turbines pumps compressors etc. Performs maintenance and repairs on bearings seals packing glands etc. Repairs and maintains equipment and machinery in accordance with proscribed manuals specifications and codes using hand tools shop equipment and test and analysis equipment such as micrometers calipers feeler gauges and dial indicators.
Performs various welding activities including weld repairs on equipment and structures.
Installs repairs and replaces various piping.
Supports safety plant reliability productivity and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities.
Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices.
Participates in work in all areas of operations maintenance repair and testing as qualified as needed.
Performs other duties that are similar related or incidental to this position.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

2 years of mechanical maintenance experience and/or equivalent in an electric generating manufacturing and/or processing/production facility

Other Requirements

Must possess a valid drivers license.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of machine shop type work.
Ability to weld.
Ability to read blueprints maintenance manuals technical manuals; mechanical aptitude.
Reading and math knowledge.
Marked and demonstrated ability to work with extremely close mechanical tolerances.
Thorough knowledge and positive attitude towards companys safety rules.
Basic knowledge of First Aid and C.P.R.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
