Responsibilities

What youll do...

Were seeking a diligent detail-driven professional to provide vital expertise in support of our manufacturing process engineering activities. Were looking to optimize our efforts in safety quality and productivity. This involves applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to advance continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and products. You will:

  • Provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program through Ok to Buy 45 days.

  • Implementation of new/modified tooling and facilities based on product and process changes.

  • Lead manufacturing assembly builds (DCV TT PP MP1 and MP2) in Canada Mexico & US assembly plants.

  • Identify and drive resolution of manufacturing related issues.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional (PD STA MP&L NMP MTDC etc.) activities.

  • Write/modify/maintain process sheets as required post Final Design Judgement. Write tooling design/build/installation scopes of work.

  • Lead assembly tooling installation start-up and commissioning at the assembly addition support tooling buy-off @ vendor facility.

  • Drive quality cost and labor improvements

  • Develop plant layouts and drive Cycle Line Layouts.

  • Lead/Manage key areas of VME for the upfront feasibility process for programs between TMR and PSC phases of GPDS

  • Prepare and lead management presentations through Ok to Buy.

  • Support coordination of Program Cost Study responses and work with cross functional teams within the organization to ensure aligned results

  • Support resolution of Major Architecture and High Investment Plant High Hurts to help mitigate Launch risks in Forward Model Development

  • Document and present Lessons Learned to core to either create or update Mfg. standards

  • Extended travel to assembly plants in US Canada and/or Mexico required



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

BSc Engineering (Mechanical Industrial OR Electrical) and the following experience:

  • 1 years Automotive Manufacturing Engineering

  • 1 years experience w/tooling processes and facilities

  • 1 years CAD experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of statistics (control charts data collecting etc.)

  • Knowledge in one or more of the following Ford software systems: AVBOM WERS GSPAS/APT Teamcenter AIM CPARS

  • Water test End of Line

  • Error proofing experience

  • Demonstrated product launch experience and issue resolution capability.

  • Strong Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work well with cross functional teams to develop consensus.

  • Proven experience in manufacturing including CAD design and tooling design.

  • Previous project management experience.

  • Prototype design and development experience.

  • Experience working with Tier 1OEM Suppliers and partners

  • Manufacturing experience in general or final assembly

This position is asalary grade range 5-6.
