THE POSITION
Develops plans organizes coordinates and administers assigned projects for a County Department; performs administrative and budgeting duties.
This class is characterized by its management responsibility over a variety of administrative and fiscal activities. This position manages an assigned project or projects within a department and serves in an administrative capacity which requires technical program knowledge. Incumbents participate in the development and implementation of goals objectives policies and priorities for the assigned program(s) and ensure compliance with laws regulations and professional standards. This class may be used for complex sensitive programs that require the interaction with a variety of departments outside agencies business groups and/or community groups.
The Solano County Probation Department currently has one (1) full-time vacancy forProject Manager.
The Project Manager position in the Probation Department is assigned to the Administrative Services Division and is responsible for the coordination of multiple federal and state grants. Additionally the position is responsible for the management and coordination of various department projects and initiatives. This position does require candidates to participate in a law enforcement background check. Interested candidates must complete and submit a personal history statement prior to receiving an invitation to interview. The Probation Department safeguards our community through the services provided to clients the court and victims. The mission of the Probation Department is to protect the community by:
Facilitating rehabilitation of offenders and holding them accountable
Conducting investigations and providing recommendations for the court
Enforcing court orders
Pursuing victim restoration and advocacy
Providing safe secure effective detention and treatment programs
Experience:Three (3) years of professional level public or private sector administrative experience involving fiscal operational and/or legislative analysis.
SELECTION PROCESS

VETERANS PREFERENCE POINTS
To be eligible applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions. A COPY OF THE DD 214 SHOWING DISCHARGE TYPE (GENERALLY COPY 4) MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT BY THE FINAL FILING DATE. Applicants who have a service connected disability must also submit a recent award letter from the VA stating they are receiving disability benefits for service connected reasons.
Veteran applicants for initial County employment with an honorable or general under conditions discharge shall receive five (5) points added to their combined score. Disabled veterans rated at not less than 30% disability shall have ten (10) points added to their combined score.
