Banquet Bartender On Call

This position is classified as On-Call. Work hours are not guaranteed and are scheduled based on business needs event volume and coverage requirements. On-Call Banquet Bartenders may be contacted to fill in for absences cover peak business periods or respond to last-minute or urgent needs related to banquets special events casino functions or casino bar operations.

Team Members in an On-Call status are expected to maintain availability and reliability when contacted for work assignments. Compensation is provided only for hours actually worked and schedules will vary week to week depending on event activity and business needs.

JOB SUMMARY: The Banquet Bartender mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes at cash and hosted bars. Ensures the banquet bar is set up appropriately and stocked with supplies; maintains accurate inventory records and maintains cash bar bank within established procedures policies and rules.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position.

1. Practice support and promote the Mission Vision and Values of Spokane Tribe Casino.
2. Set up bars and accessories as directed by BEO and Banquet Captain.
3. Serve liquor beer soda juice and mixed drinks with standard garnishments.
4. Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
5. Utilize POS system proficiently.
6. Accept payment when applicable for guests orders
7. Maintain accurate consumption sheets and other related paperwork.
8. Balance cash receipts and process bank with appropriate standard operating procedures when applicable at conclusion of event.
9. Comply with all inventory control measures.
10. Break down bar and store supplies at end of function.
11. Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
12. Maintain a safe clean organized and stocked work area following sanitation standards.
13. Assist with banquet staff duties as directed.
14. Create maintain and facilitate a positive work environment.
15. Smile and engage Guests and Team Members with a positive professional demeanor.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Three (3) years bartending experience required. Completion of Bartending School or equivalent training and two (2) years bartending experience may be considered in lieu of the three-year experience requirement.
• One (1) year banquet bartending experience required.
• At least two (2) years experience working in a variety of capacities within a high-volume Banquet/Catering operation with one (1) year of fine dining service required.
• Obtain and maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit.
• Obtain and maintain a valid MAST certification.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Demonstrate excellent Guest service and communication skills.
• Exhibit proven knowledge and skill in mixology beer and wines as well as alcohol safety awareness.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of P.O.S. systems.
• Demonstrate knowledge of BERG liquor dispensing system.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to interact with Guests co-workers management and vendors in a friendly enthusiastic and outgoing manner.
• Demonstrate mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters.
• Demonstrate ability to read and comprehend instructions short correspondence and policy documents as well as converse read write and read English fluently.
• Exhibit working knowledge of health & safety standards and safety regulations as required.

Ability to maneuver in all areas of the casino ascent/descent from stairs frequent standing walking sitting reaching stooping kneeling or crouching and/or prolonged periods of time focusing on tasks. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. May regularly need to lift/ move push or pull up material or boxes necessary to the job function with or without assistance.

Occasionally required to lift/move up to one hundred (100) pounds of force (pulling pushing lifting carrying etc.) and reach with hands and arms use hands to grasp and have finger dexterity to handle objects tools or controls. Exposure to both extreme Hot and Cold temperatures equipment and substances and regularly required to work in tight high or confined spaces.

Specific vision ability includes close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision and depth perception. Visual acuity to discern and examine text graphics color and symmetry. Speech to communicate clearly express ideas and convey information in an understandable manner. Ability to hear for listening comprehension and to understand ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
