As a Centre Officer you will:

  • Support with implementing the SEED Lifespan Strategic Plan and Communications Plan. This includes supporting the update and maintenance of our various websites issuing regular communications to internal and external stakeholders such as newsletters and enhancing our social media presence as well as supporting the development of creative content for the translation of research such as animations and podcasts.
  • Assist in coordinating the Centres operations performance and delivery of projects in line with project milestones and contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate major initiatives events and cadence of meetings preparing agendas minutes tracking attendance and supporting event planning.
  • Work with Deakin central services and the SEED professional team to provide administrative grants and communications support to staff.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (School of Psychology Faculty of Health Deputy ViceChancellor Research etc.) and ensure accurate timely reporting of grants publications and other organisational data.

In a typical day/week you will:

  • Support team members to achieve individual team and University goals fostering effective communication inclusion and rapport.
  • Rolemodel professional ethical behaviour and seek advice or information as needed to inform decision making.
  • Clarify expectations and respond promptly to customer (internal/external) requests tailoring communication to the audience and ensuring clarity.
  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and team members especially during periods of pressure or change.
  • Take ownership of goals and tasks: plan methodically track progress propose process improvements show initiative and adapt to evolving work demands.

To be successful youll have:

  • Qualification: completion of a tertiary qualification with at least 2 years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education/training and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating research administration activities and reporting on data and metrics with a strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Experience supporting a leadership team advisory committee or working group especially in scheduling meetings preparing agendas minutes and meeting papers.
  • Highlevel communication and interpersonal skills able to communicate clearly accurately and appropriately for different audiences.
  • Excellent organisational skills; ability to work autonomously and within a dynamic team manage multiple projects under pressure and meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Highly developed analytical and problemsolving skills aligned with delivering project outcomes and contributing to strategic objectives.
