The High Point University Manger of Broadcast Technology supports the Broadcast and AV engineering needs for Events both university and athletic in the Nido and Marianna Qubein Arena and Conference Center Vert Stadium Witcher Stadium and Millis Athletic Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelors degree required
Experience and Training:
- Minimum of five (5) years of broadcast experience preferred
- Project management experience preferred
Knowledge Skills Ability:
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to utilize various types of audio-visual and broadcast equipment that are owned by HPU or outsourced.
- Competent in operating in-house equipment such as telephone systems internet Quince system Daktronics System sound lighting visual electronics podium and computer equipment.
- Proficient in Ross Video Systems QSYS and Haivision equipment.
- A strong leader and the ability to supervise external contractors and vendors.
- Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities.
- Unmatched attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under stressful situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Make independent decisions while maintaining strong ethical standards consistent with university policy rules.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work flexible schedule including late night and weekend hours based on a seasonal event schedule.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends based on a seasonal event season.

Broadcast support for high level events including but not limited to:
- Support for Athletic Events
- Support for University Events
- Events in the Conference Center Arena and Hotel:
- Veterans Day
- Prayer Breakfast
- Rotary Thanksgiving Program
- Conferences and Meetings
- Admissions Events
- University Events Department
- Commencement
- Convocation
- Special Events sponsored by Athletics
- Manages and maintains all broadcast equipment.
- Works closely with the Director of Broadcast Operations to coordinate broadcast needs and changes.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of all storerooms and service areas and make sure equipment is always in working condition.
- Maintains a professional image by following dress code that includes a coat and tie based on formality of the event.
- Other duties as assigned.
