Job Summary
The Opportunity:
Were seeking an associate paralegal with excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills and experience with brand licensing and marketing transactions to join Mattels worldwide Legal & Business Affairs team. This position is located at Mattels headquarters in Los Angeles. This position will evolve and may expand as Mattels needs evolve.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Support varied IP-centric transactions for Mattels licensing brand media and technology groups which are responsible for the global marketing of Mattel brands and products. Daily responsibilities include reviewing deal terms for completeness and accuracy drafting/negotiating/executing agreements and preparation of related legal documents.
- Provide thoughtful strategic and proactive legal and business advice on wide range of issues related to licensing marketing and digital/traditional brand activations and other services including independent contractor and agency engagements.
- Provide timely responses proactively manage expectations of clients and skillfully juggle constantly changing priorities.
- Engage in frequent and direct communications with Mattel internal stakeholders as well as external partners (including CEOs CFOs and attorneys).
Qualifications :
What Were Looking For:
- 1 -year experience as a paralegal contract administrator or licensing manager at a law firm studio or large company strongly preferred.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Contribute to a culture that values strong practice administration. Excellent organizational skills a must including planning prioritization organization and time management. Apply exceptionally high attention to detail especially in relation to contract drafting and interpretation.
- Ability to follow instructions and standard practices and ability to adapt and improvise when instructions and practices dont exist.
- Be intellectually curious and eager to grow and develop. Be humble; continue to learn on the job and be receptive to constructive feedback; and elevate issues that are beyond experience or comfort zone.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint required.
- Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning embracing challenges and improving themselves.
*The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range however base pay will be determined based on a candidates work location skills and experience.
