WhereTo provides an AI-powered travel platform for corporate travel. Our platform uses machine learning algorithms to recommend personalised travel options based on a travellers preferences company policies and budget. Our technology also allows for real-time travel tracking reporting and cost analysis enabling companies to optimise their travel programs and reduce costs.

About The Opportunity...

WhereTo is seeking a skilled and motivatedData Engineerto join our growing data team. Working closely with our Data Analyst and cross-functional partners you will play a key role in building and maintaining the pipelines integrations and architectures that power our insights.

This role is central to ensuring that our data is accurate accessible and actionable enabling smarter decisions across product business and operations. As one of the first dedicated data engineering hires you will not only own the design and delivery of scalable data systems but also help shape our long-term data infrastructure strategy. By building reliable pipelines and robust data structures you will ensure that WhereTo moves from reactive reporting to proactive insight-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities...

Pipeline Development & Integration
Design build and maintainETL pipelinesto centralise and integrate data from multiple internal and external sources.
Design pipelines with future growth in mind ensuring they arescalable reliable and efficient.

Data Architecture & Modelling
Develop and optimisedata models and architecturesto support reporting analytics and long-term scalability.
Ensure data systems aresecure compliant and governedin line with best practices.
Work within Flight Centres existing data stack (PowerBI Apache Spark Azure Synapse Microsoft Fabric) while influencing improvements and long-term direction.

Partner with the Data Analyst to deliverclean structured and reliable datafor dashboards KPIs and advanced analytics.
Collaborate with Product Engineering and business stakeholders to understand data needs and proactively deliver solutions that guide roadmaps and priorities.
Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of tools systems and processes that strengthen our data infrastructure and accelerate decision-making.

Experience & Qualifications...

Proficiency inPythonandSQLfor data manipulation transformation and pipeline development.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and other relational databases.
3 - 5 years of professional experience indata engineering or a related role
Strong background inETL processes data modelling and data architecture.
Experience in the travel industry desirable.
