Job Summary

The Supply Chain department manages all aspect of procurement for The Aerospace Corporation. As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Buyer Indirect Goods and Services you will play a key role in developing and executing sourcing strategies across a diverse range of categories including a wide range of capital and indirect products and services including IT specialized equipment facilities services and engineering design and construction. This position requires a strong background in strategic sourcing supplier management and category strategy development to drive cost savings efficiency and value creation for the enterprise.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time onsite at one of our locations in El Segundo CA; Houston TX; Colorado Springs CO; Chantilly VA; or Huntsville AL.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect goods and services categories across The Aerospace Corporation.
  • Develop and implement category strategies that align with organizational goals and drive supplier performance innovation and cost optimization.
  • Conduct market analysis supplier capability assessments and competitive benchmarking to identify sourcing opportunities.
  • Lead RFPs RFIs and RFQs; manage supplier negotiations contract terms and pricing to ensure best-value outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop sourcing roadmaps.
  • Partner with internal teams on supplier relationship management (SRM) continuous improvement and supplier innovation initiatives.
  • Implement procedures to continuously evaluate suppliers costs and deliverability.
  • Contribute to process improvement effort sand promote procurement best practices across the organization.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Subcontracts Admin Staff IV:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain or related field
  • 8 years of supply chain experience with 5 years of relevant procurement strategic sourcing and contracting.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office: Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional sourcing projects from strategy development through contract execution.
  • Technical leadership and contractual competencies to form strategies to construct and execute contractual activities utilizing various contracting types that are developed based on the need of each organization
  • Experience establishing/developing appropriately scaled SRM framework
  • Advanced Project management skills to build manage and meet effective procurement schedules
  • Advanced financial acumen and analytical skills required to construct pricing strategies/exhibits conduct bid evaluation and justify pricing reasonableness

  • Ariba/SAP experience
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Experience setting up strategic purchasing agreements related to indirect categories including but not limited to: office supplies IT-related materials & services marketing-related services capital HR related services (recruitment training contract labor) travel management services professional services (consultants) facilities maintenance/repair/operations and design/construction sourcing methodologies (ex: Job Order Contracts)
