We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards excellent communication skills enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course by course basis.
Course of instruction to include but not limited to:
Psychology (PSYC110)
This course provides a foundation for understanding predicting and directing behavior. Organized within a framework encompassing foundations general topics and applications the course provides an understanding of how psychological principles and concepts relate to professional and personal life. Topics include learning attitude formation personality social influence dynamics of communication conflict resolution motivation leadership and group roles and processes.
Responsibilities
- Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus and which includes the terminal course objectives.
- Organizes prepares and regularly revises and update all course materials.
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software including Websites e-mail and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students provide clarity and improve student learning.
- Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives assignment/examinations dates and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
- Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications :
Requirements for this position include:
- A Masters or PhD degree in Psychology or very closely related field along with 18 earned graduate credit hours directly in psychology courses is required to be considered for this position
- Candidates with a PhD in field are strongly encouraged to apply
- A minimum 2 years of teaching experience in an online/virtual environment ranked at the position of Instructor or higher is required
- Teaching experience which includes student outreach is highly preferred
- Experientially prepared to teach assigned courses
- Maintain current regulatory and practice credentials when appropriate based on assignment
- Possess genuine passion for education and lifelong learning
- Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion respect and care
- Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues students and the broader community
- Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution (all foreign degrees must be evaluated by an approved evaluation entity)
Additional Information :
Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1950/Earned Credit Hour depending on the candidates education and experience.
Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
