Primary School SPED Teacher

The SPED Teachers role will be to create a supportive learning environment in which to help students meet their learning goals. Through interesting and diverse methods successful strategies to reach IEP goals and access grade-level curriculum. They oversee student progress by tracking assignment and exam grades in order to provide useful feedback. WCPA teachers are results-driven educators with experience in and commitment to standards-based curriculum and the use of data and assessments to drive instructional decisions.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: School environment; fast-paced work constant interruptions.
• Physical requirements: Hearing and speaking to exchange information make presentations and communicate over the telephone; seeing to read prepare and proofread documents and view computer monitors; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment; kneeling bending at the waist and reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and supplies; lifting light objects; ability to go to sites apart from primary office to conduct busines.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors Degree required 
• A California Education Specialist Credential (mild/mod); PIP/STSP/waivers will be considered.
• Familiarity with and/or the ability to learn SIRUS IEP writing and Special Ed Reporting Software 
• Familiarity with and/or the ability to learn RTI co-teaching collaboration Push-In Pull-out Learning Lab Intervention and small-group teaching models. 
• Demonstrated mastery of classroom skills including classroom management planning assessment and instructional practice
• Proficiency with various technologies and teaching tools
• Bilingual ability preferred

Skills Knowledge:

• Preparing and implementing lesson plans that lead to student understanding based on state standards
• Providing an effective learning environment that reflects and facilitates student achievement
• Assessing student progress and maintaining accurate records
• Writing and conducting IEPs and facilitating IEP meetings
• Proctoring Formal Assessments
• Updating service logs and files 
• Communicating with partnering agencies
• Participating in SST Meetings
• Maintaining frequent communication with students students families colleagues and leadership
• Participating regularly in professional development opportunities
• Appropriately communicating and interacting with other professional staff in academic planning and school committee work.
• Attending and participating in staff meetings and extra-curricular/school-related activities and committees.
• Demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional growth and working with administrators to formulate and complete professional development plans.
• Maintaining a professional appearance and demonstrating behavior that is conscientious and responsible.

Pay Range: $66745.12 - $110152.35. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
