Within this role you will;

  • Provide specialist vertebrate pest management advice tailored to the community on current and emerging issues within the region
  • Work hand in hand with landholders specialist technical staff and stakeholders to bring effective management of pest animals to the community
  • Manage on the ground pest management projects including all aspects of project management
  • Build strong and collaborative partnerships within your team and stakeholders
  • Design and deliver pest animal workshops and events

About You

Our ideal candidate will have experience in program management. You will have a passion for vertebrate pest management understand the impacts of vertebrate pest species and be committed to helping landholders and rural communities. You will love the opportunity to work beside a team of experts and to support and contribute to the work they do. You will have a positive and solution-focused attitude and will enjoy getting things done efficiently and on time. You should be comfortable working as part of a team and with a range of skilled operational staff across Central Tablelands Local Land Services.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Sound project and administrative support skills including monitoring and reporting on project plans milestones and deliverables to ensure time cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans
  • A passionate and positive attitude with the motivation to make a difference with the work you do
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience engaging and forming strong relationships with landholders and industry stakeholders to provide timely and effective frontline advisory and extension services
  • Ability to collect and collate data analyse information and provide accurate reports and recommendations on relevant issues
  • The ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
  • A genuine interest in pest biosecurity
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude youll be able to think creatively and solve complex problems for both yourself and others as they arise
Essential requirement for the role include;
  • Knowledge and understanding of agricultural environmental natural resource management biosecurity and emergency management issues in the Central Tablelands region
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel
