Sales Representative Financial Institutions

The Location: Tokyo Japan

S&P Global Market Intelligence a division of S&P Global is seeking a Sales Representative to join our New Business Sales team in this role you will be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities within the financial institutions sector. You will work closely with fellow Sales Representatives Relationship Managers and Product Managers to drive revenue growth with a focus on selling our Capital IQ Pro Desktop and Company & Market Data solutions. This is a quota-carrying role.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed annual new sales targets while maintaining a strong sales pipeline and accurate reporting. Designed territory will be the following sectors in Japan: Commercial Banks Insurance and Investment Management
  • Proactively generate leads through cold calling email campaigns marketing initiatives and collaboration with Relationship Managers
  • Conduct sales meetings to understand client challenges and present tailored solutions
  • Develop an exceptional understanding of and stay current on S&P Global Market Intelligence solutions and how they apply to client workflows
  • Stay informed on industry trends macroeconomic factors regulatory changes and competitor landscape relevant to your clients
  • Build and maintain strong trust-based relationships with clients ensuring high satisfaction through effective resolution of product technical or content-related issues
  • Manage deal processes including contract generation sales order processing and coordination with Product Legal and Finance teams
  • Use Salesforce CRM to manage opportunities and track leads

What We are Looking for:

  • A results-driven professional with a proven track record in sales and a hunter mentality
  • Excellent communication presentation and negotiation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong initiative and energy
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit capable of working effectively across departments and global teams

Core Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a client-facing or analytical role within investment banking private equity asset management or financial information services
  • Fluent in Japanese and English both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Well-established network within Japans financial markets
  • Deep understanding of workflows and business practices within Japanese financial institutions
