Tech Service Management
Brief Overview:
Technology Service Management (SM) team is the foundation of SGXs enterprise technology operations delivering reliability resilience and ongoing improvement across all IT services. SM governs the full lifecycle of service processes including Incident Problem and Availability Management while driving operational workflow enhancements to ensure transparency and accountability.
The team oversees the Enterprise Command Centre (ECC) proactively monitoring service health coordinating rapid responses to technology disruptions and leading thorough post-incident reviews. SM is also looks into process optimisation automation and the adoption of Generative AI modernising IT operations to boost efficiency and elevating the service experience for both internal and external stakeholders.
Learning Objectives:
During the internship intern will gain hands-on exposure to the day-to-day workings of enterprise technology operations and governance. They will:
- Experience real-world IT service operations learning how critical systems are managed monitored and supported in a live production environment.
- Develop analytical and process thinking skillsby identifying bottlenecks inefficiencies and automation opportunities across IT service processes.
- Contribute to digital transformation initiatives such as dashboard creation knowledge management improvements and Generative AI (GenAI) use-case pilots.
- Engage with subject matter expertsfrom diverse technology domains gaining a comprehensive view of how IT ecosystems are structured controlled and continuously improved.
This internship provides a strong foundation for those aspiring to pursue careers in IT Service Management Technology Governance or Operations Excellence.
Job Description:
The intern will work closely with SM leads to:
- Design and develop Power BI dashboardsfor operational insights incident tracking problem trending and service performance reporting.
- Support process improvement and automation initiatives analysing workflows and proposing re-engineering or automation opportunities.
- Participate in GenAI innovation projects identifying use cases that improve operational intelligence knowledge retrieval and decision-support capabilities.
- Assist in knowledge management initiatives including structuring and indexing operational data for easier discovery and reuse.
- Contribute to operational review sessions(e.g. Incident Problem) to understand technology risk governance and coordination across multiple teams.
Interns will find this role engaging if they are curious about how technology keeps SGX critical business services and its ecosystem running and if they enjoy working at the intersection of data processes people and emerging technologies.
Knowledge and Skills requirements:
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar tools to design intuitive and data-driven reports to drive insights.
- Ability to organise and synthesise information from disparate sources (e.g. logs incident records reports) into actionable insights.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill. Strong logical thinking root-cause analysis and ability to connect technical and business perspectives to recommend improvements.
- Interest in ITIL concepts; able to map processes and identify automation opportunities.
- Capable of documenting findings clearly and articulating ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
