Job Description

Job Summary/Purpose

The purpose of the Shipping/Receiving Clerk is to receive orders into dispatch from production and other vendors prepare goods for shipping package and ship all orders from the Brenham Texas manufacturing plant. This position worksthe majority of their day from the computer; shipping and receiving transactions are all electronic.

Essential Duties

• Receive jobs into dispatch via PPEs computer system and be responsible for putting them away into the correct storage locations
• Use computer systems to ship orders (JDE DLP various carrier portals)
• To undertake industry and/or customer-specific packaging requirements including kit assembly
• Work in-line with all relevant SOPs
• To plan ahead and utilize time effectively to ensure there are no bottlenecks at time of dispatch
• Correspond by e-mail to various departments within PPE
• Ensure the packing of orders is prioritized in-line with customer due date informing the Shipping Supervisor of any issues that may affect OTD.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure good teamwork and best practice
• All work is carried out using the correct PPE (personal protective equipment) at all times and you will be expected to report any on site accidents near misses or potential hazards
• Consistently achieve KPIs respective to your department in terms of efficiency quality and health & safety
• All other reasonable requests in-line with the role

Working Environment

• Climate-controlled environment low noise level PPE required

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• May be required to use step ladder to reach high shelves
• Hand/finger manipulation is constant

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 6 months previous experience using computer systems in a professional working environment
• Prior shipping/receiving experience a plus
• Demonstrated communication skills both verbally and written
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems with the ability to learn more specialized computer systems
