Term: Full-Time Temporary Leave Replacement

The Nightingale-Bamford School is seeking a dynamic dedicated educator to join our Physical Education Department for the Spring semester of the school year. We are looking for individuals who are eager creative and flexible and who are excited to work with students in grades K12 in a collaborative and supportive environment. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education and is an exempt salaried position long term leave replacement role.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
  • Teach physical education across all three divisions: Lower Middle and Upper Schools
  • Implement a skill based curriculum that prompts an active and healthy lifestyle amongst students
  • Co-teach Lower school classes focusing on areas including but not limited to foundational locomotive movements fitness sport specific skills team concepts and small games
  • Develop creative and innovative Middle School and Upper School classes with a focus on life long skills
  • Design engaging and relevant student-centered lessons
  • Collaborate with other faculty to infuse interdisciplinary strategies.
  • Participate actively in school life; assemblies advisory clubs faculty meetings professional development and other community events
  • Must instill an enthusiasm for movement and fitness in students
  • Coach Middle and Upper School athletics (Swimming and Lacrosse Preferred)
  • Perform other school duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in physical education
  • Dual-certification in physical education preferred
  • 3 years experience teaching physical in a K-12 setting
  • Possess excellent communication skills a positive attitude the ability to be flexible and a passion for working with children
  • Varsity level coaching experience
  • CPR and first aid certification
  • Demonstrated commitment to anti-racist work equity and inclusion
  • Experience engaging with and adapting to diverse learners
  • Experience designing and implementing developmentally-appropriate and varied activities
