DescriptionReporting to the Associate Director of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) this position will be responsible for the organization and management of collaborative community partnerships that engages with the mission of the Tisch Cancer Institute (TCI) and will facilitate and coordinate community engagement programs and initiatives. This role will also work alongside the Associate Director of COE to ensure the needs of the catchment area are being served by the research programs within TCI.
Responsibilities- Works with the Associate Director to formulate a strategic mission of the COE program and standard operating procedures
- Build partnership between TCIs existing Community Advisory Board (CAB) and additional community partners.
- Manage a team of health educators and volunteers and lead community educational programming.
- Provide guidance in development of SOPs to empower CAB.
- Organizes and manage the TCIs community outreach and engagement efforts.
- Create and maintain relationships with community partners that fosters a lasting relationship with the communities we serve.
- Ensure community partnerships align with TCI community engagement strategy.
- Demonstrate technical expertise in understanding federal and regulatory guidelines as it applies to clinical research at TCI.
- Cultivate and manages relationships with partnership schools faith-based institutions community associations local businesses and other key stakeholders.
- Manage the planning development and implementation of organizational and community engagement events and initiatives.
- Conduct internal and external presentations on COEs community events and initiatives
- Represents and serves on community partnership committees and coalitions.
- Compiles and maintain program outcomes data for community engagement projects as assigned.
- Ensure adherence to specified deadlines in accordance with goals and objectives.
- Facilitate and assists in the completion of grant applications.
- Develop and maintain project protocols and study and outreach materials.
- Supports project management activities and performs project-relevant administrative tasks.
- Prepare and submit technical reports (e.g. IRB submission documents annual and quarterly progress reports).
- Communicate and engage with research/community partners and other stakeholders about current and planned COE projects and organizing and attending project meetings.
- Support the Associate Director as needed.
- Identify potential areas of improvement in COEs functions & and discuss corrective actions with Associate Director.
- Serve as the main point of contact for COE with external collaborators.
- Performs other related duties.
- May require weekend and evening hours according to community educational need.
Qualifications- Bachelors degree or greater preferred or a combination of applicable experience and education
- 3 years experience (5 preferred) managing and administrating program activities for assigned area
- Preferred:
- MS Office Suite (intermediate)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks projects and assignments
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
