Job Summary
A leading company in the heavy manufacturing industry is looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter with strong experience in maintaining repairing and overhauling plant equipment as well as working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems to join their team in Vanderbijlpark. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of production machinery through effective preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic problems in all equipment and machinery.
Perform repairs overhauls and rebuilds of plant equipment and machinery.
Fabricate install and retrofit auxiliary devices and mechanical components.
Conduct preventative maintenance and daily checks on scheduled equipment.
Operate lathes welders cutting torches and mechanical presses.
Interpret engineering drawings blueprints and work orders accurately.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Requirements:
Qualified Red Seal Mechanical Fitter Trade.
Minimum of 6 months experience with production machinery including lathe milling drilling thermal heating cutting and welding equipment.
Strong problem-solving communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.
Physically fit and able to perform tasks involving bending climbing and lifting.
