• Oversee financial activities for business operations and development projects in Japan.
• Build and manage a capable finance team to support organizational objectives.
• Support the implementation of new systems and insourcing of finance functions.

Project Overview:

We are supporting a global technology clients finance function through the introduction of an Interim Finance and Business Partnering manager to ensure continuity in the current financial planning and analysis operations. The interim manager will be responsible to improve the capacity of the finance team with business expected to grow in both current and upcoming projects. Your involvement in the project will be carried out as an independent subcontractor.

• Work location: Within 23 wards of Tokyo
• Contract type: Service entrust contract (業務委託)
• Hourly rate: Starts at 6000 JPY per hour negotiable based on skills and experience

Scope of Services: Project-based Contract.

Team Leadership

• Manage and develop segments of the finance function.
• Provide financial partnership to local and global teams delivering analysis and insights.
• Oversee outsourced finance operations.
• Lead the operational procurement team.

Financial Strategy & Operations

• Develop and execute financial planning including budgets and forecasts.
• Own and manage operational and project budgets ensuring targets are achieved.
• Prepare and report on financial statements.
• Maximize revenue through effective billing and collection processes.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and governance policies.
• Maintain and improve internal processes and controls.
• Review and approve commercial model assumptions.
• Identify manage and mitigate financial risks.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Manage local cash and treasury operations.
• Contribute to regional treasury matters.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts for short medium and long-term planning.
• Oversee statutory reporting and routine tax matters.

Collaboration & Reporting

• Serve as a member of the local leadership team reporting to the global finance function.
• Interact with various business divisions and external accounting providers.
• Engage directly with key stakeholders.
• Support cross-functional initiatives as needed.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Strong communication skills in conveying financial concepts and resolving issues with various stakeholders in Japanese and English.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to adapt to changes and tolerate ambiguity.
• Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics and strong Excel skills (V-lookup Sum/If).

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Native level.
• English: Fluent level in reading writing and speaking.

Working Conditions:

• Work from home is acceptable for up to 2 days per week.
