We are seeking an inspiring and strategic leader to take the helm of a thriving primary school-centred Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme. This is a unique opportunity to lead a well-established SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training) partnership that has built a strong reputation for excellence in teacher education.

Your role and responsibilities

As Primary SCITT Leader you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of teacher training in our region. You will:

  • Lead manage and co-ordinate all activities of the Primary Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme ensuring it runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Deliver engaging and informative training sessions on a range of topics to support trainee development.
  • Secure high-quality school placements that provide rich learning experiences for trainees.
  • Liaise closely with trainees NESTT Tutors and school-based mentors to ensure robust support systems are in place enabling trainees to thrive and ensuring high completion rates.
  • Co-ordinate and evaluate the quality of training and support across the programme promoting consistency and excellence.
  • Identify and share examples of good practice across the ITT programmes to foster continuous improvement.

You Will Need

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Current involvement in ITT or recent experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • The ability to deliver training that effectively links educational theory to classroom practice.
  • A proven track record of high-quality and creative teaching in the primary phase.
  • Experience in successful coaching and mentoring.
  • A genuine passion for improving the social and economic outcomes of young people through the continuous development of education in our region.
