The Clinical Director in training must be an experienced Doctor of Physical Therapy. This individual will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Wasilla clinic while gaining valuable experience and mentorship from our leadership team and fellow CDs. This position will include a 90-day training period where you will be considered the CD in training. The title change to Clinical Director will be issued following a successful 90-day completion and review.
As a Clinical Director your first and largest priorities are cultivating a clinic that is efficiently run to be productive and profitable while maintaining a positive Team culture.
This is a highly responsible professional health care and management position requiring a high level of managerial skill quality productivity and leadership. The individual holding this position is responsible for operation of the clinical services of Empower Physical Therapy at your particular location. The Clinical Director (CD) will be accountable for patient care (including quality and productivity) culture of the clinic timely documentation & appropriate billing. The CD will work closely with the Practice Supervisor training staff on clinical standards as well communicates with the Lead New Patient Coordinator to monitor incoming referrals and evaluation fluctuations and using the Marketing Assistant as a resource for your targeted location and patient demographic. The CD will also work closely with the COO in making sure new providers are recruited based on clinic needs and receive training and appropriate mentorship. This position has direct profit and loss responsibility for the clinic in which they are assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees physical therapists in conducting physical therapy evaluations on each patient and the devising of a plan of care based on the objective functional and subjective findings of the evaluation. Evaluation findings assessment and plan of care (plan frequency duration and goals) are documented in accord with company policies standards and regulations.
- Provides a work environment that fosters clinician development and growth teamwork productivity and a wow experience.
- Ensure accurate documentation of care including additional reports required by other referring physicians and other agencies. This includes doing chart audits monthly of 2 clinicians in order to ensure accurate documentation (this can be delegated to ACD)
- Responsible for appropriate billed charges of all clinical services rendered. Including:
- Ensuring proper number units are billed
- Units are being diversified
- Handles customer service issues of the clinic and reports issues and disposition to Practice Supervisor and HR as appropriate.
- Complies with all regulations and codes which govern the practice of physical therapy in the state of Alaska.
- Communicates with referral sources (liaison with Marketing Assistant) as needed to coordinate patients care.
- Compiles and interprets key performance indicators. Tracks and watches providers KPIs that fall below expectations.
- Meets with providers to discuss action plans when KPI expectations are not met.
- Responsible for coordinating and planning in-services with the Clinical Research Coordinator for his/her peers in the company as well as coordinating future in-services with others teaching.
- Participates in training to improve business skills such as communication administration leadership sales and finance.
- Manages the schedule of the staff of the clinic with the Practice Supervisor and the Director of Admin. Consults with the COO as necessary.
- Motivates leads encourages and sets the example to have the clinical team attain the productivity targets and expectations.
- Oversees the maintenance of all clinic facilities and equipment.
- Ensures clinic and staff adherence to corporate HIPAA compliance and OSHA regulations (coordinate with HR director)
- Performs an annual inspection of all clinical equipment in your Empower Physical Therapy location for the purpose of determining the adequacy of the equipment to meet Empower Physical Therapys high clinical quality expectations. Reports deficiencies and recommendations to the COO.
- Manages the operations of the Clinicians and the staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Participates in regular meetings with other management (COO Location CDs Supervisor Marketing Assistant etc)
- Coordinates staffing needs for location with Supervisor Director of Administration and COO as needed.
- When needed participates in the interview process of staff PTs PTAs and occasionally PT Aides being considered for hire.
- Coordinates with Billing specialist regarding areas of billing compliance and best billing practices.
- Responsible for the training of the clinicians in conjunction with the COO
- Gathers records and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to CEO COO CFO
