Division: Within the Rehabilitation Department at ELMHS Located in Jackson LA
The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation treatment habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions jail-based evaluations supervised group home and residential programs forensic evaluation care custody and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.
ELMHS is looking for a motivated detail-oriented individual to join the team in the Rehabilitation Department as a Barber!
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a license issued by the Louisiana Board of Barber Examiners; OR
Possession of a cosmetology license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
In this role you will:
- Provide individualized grooming needs for client population to include haircuts and trims hair and scalp treatments other beauty treatments and shaves.
- Instruct patients in personal hygiene.
- Meet Board and Health Standards and Safety.
- Maintain clean and safe shop area.
- Sterilize and sanitize all equipment after being used.
- Count bag and send soiled towels to be laundered.
- Count and store clean towels in a secured cabinet.
- Keep scissors and hazardous materials in a secured cabinet.
- Maintain daily log and confers with supervisor about services rendered.
- Instruct clients in elementary beauty care and good grooming.
- Report to supervisor and Nursing Services any scalp disorders found.
- Inventory supplies and orders as needed.
- Complete and submit monthly report to supervisor.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: WAE (not to exceed 1245 hours in a 12-month period)
Compensation:
- This position has an SER of $20.61 an hour
