THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide supportive effective optimistic leadership to all nutritional care staff.
- Ensure that effective management systems (including reporting and internal control) within the nutritional care department are maintained to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation The Fixing Long Term Care Act and corresponding regulations Dundas Manor standards policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate leadership presence in the home. Demonstrate commitment to the home and residents by recognizing that hours and days of work may be altered from time to time based on the needs of the home.
- Direct and oversee the appropriate utilization of all resources to ensure appropriate allocation to support required care and services. Develop proposals for the annual operating budget.
- Ensure the availability of appropriate supplies and equipment required
- Complete food ordering as per home requirements
- Recruit hire train promote monitor and manage nutritional care personnel; evaluate employee performance in accordance with established policy
- Schedule employees in the nutritional department as per the Collective Agreement
- Ensure that documentation in the clinical record is accurate current and complete. Ensure that MDS assessments and the nutritional plan of care are an accurate reflection of the residents and the care that they are provided in the home.
- Ensure all nutritional care staff have the regular opportunity to attain and maintain safe food handler training.
- Complete audits for quality of food and quality of dining care
Qualifications Required:
- A post-secondary diploma in Food Service and Nutrition Management from an approved educational institution OR.
- A post-secondary degree in food and nutrition AND
- Proof of membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM).
At the end of this Maternity Leave there is an opportunity for a regular part-time position in this new home.
