Key Responsibilities

- Use CAD software to design and build mechanical components systems and products ensuring that they meet engineering standards and specifications.

- Work with cross-functional teams such as product management manufacturing and quality assurance to improve designs and incorporate feedback.

- Prepare precise technical drawings 3D models and prototypes for testing and validation.

- Run simulations stress tests and feasibility studies to optimise designs for performance cost and sustainability.

- Take part in design reviews solve issues and iterate on prototypes based on test results.

- Keep up with industry trends materials and technology to create and improve product designs.

- Manage project timeframes paperwork and resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs.

Skills

- Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks AutoCAD or equivalent tools; expertise with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software is advantageous.

- Thorough understanding of engineering principles materials science and manufacturing processes (such as injection molding and CNC machining).

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills as well as the capacity to think creatively under time restrictions.

- Demonstrates effective communication and cooperation skills while presenting designs and collaborating with varied stakeholders.

- Attention to detail with an emphasis on precision and quality in technical work.

- Knowledge of prototyping tools 3D printing and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO ASME) is helpful.

- The ability to manage several tasks and react to changing priorities.

Education & Experience

- A bachelors degree in mechanical engineering industrial design or a similar engineering subject (masters degree desirable but not needed).

- 3-7 years of practical experience in design engineering preferably in the product development or manufacturing industries.

- A portfolio or examples of previous projects demonstrating successful design execution.

Annual Salary

- The yearly basic income for this position varies from $75000 to $110000 depending on experience location and expertise.

- Performance-based bonuses and incentives are available with the potential to increase basic compensation by up to 15%.
