Life doesnt become more social than through sharing food. Thats our founding food philosophy and it can be yours food that comes out of the Living Kitchen is fresh simple honest healthy and local. With short-end preparation times simple ingredients and limited preparation steps our assortment is incredibly intelligent and facilitates fast service.


Reflecting the belief that we are what we eat our kitchen aims to physically energize appeal to the senses and nourish the soul. Our food is prepared in an open kitchen and served on long communal tables ideal for salt passing and idea swapping.

WHAT WILL YOU DO
No day looks the same as a Sous Chef but heres a glimpse of what you can expect:


Take the lead in the kitchen:Youll oversee Zokus Living Kitchen in Paris and ensure its in line with our main food philosophy. You are responsible for any food that comes out of the Living Kitchen: from conception to execution to presentation and leading other chefs during a shift.


Become an all-around kitchen guru:You are working closely together with our Head Chef to develop menus offerings and taking care about supply needs. You will also ensure that the Living Kitchen meets all local regulations including HACCP and safety guidelines.


Show your creative outlet on a plate:You will plate beautiful dishes and make creative buffets which do not only look good but also taste amazing. This includes making sure the kitchen looks amazing too. You can also swing by our rooftop garden for a fresh herb or garnish whenever you want to!


Chat up a storm:Youll chat with an international mix of residents and locals. As you are cooking in an open kitchen you will get to know and chat with guests while cooking up a storm. Youll be sure to meet some interesting people along the way!

  • You get to be independent in your work. You like doing your own thing and can cook solo when you need to.

  • You can get to know the entire team. You are in close contact with our front of house and entire Zoku team in general.

  • You can work in a unique kitchen setup. Were not like your average kitchen (feel free to stop by our rooftop to see for yourself!)

  • You are encouraged to work with fresh and seasonal ingredients. We have strong emphasis on incorporating vegetables into your dishes.

Job requirements

WE LOVE PEOPLE WHO...

  • Show their creativity through their passion for food and never settle for less.

  • Can juggle many tasks at the same time while remaining cool headed and warm hearted.

  • Have experience in working independently and leading a team.

  • Have a hands-on and proactive mentality when it comes to problem solving both inside and outside of the kitchen.

  • Are fully flexible and not stuck to fixed working days and hours.

  • Have experience in healthy homestyle cooking vegetarian cooking skills are a plus.

  • Have provable knowledge of various cooking techniques.

  • Have basic knowledge of food cost control.


A FEWMUST HAVES

  • You have a minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar position.

  • You have experience with implementing the local HACCP guidelines.

  • You are fluent in French and English other languages are a plus.

  • You are an EU resident or have a working and living permit valid for France.

  • You love to work as we need you full time.

  • You are based in or around Paris or are willing to relocate.

  • You are comfortable and enjoy working in an open kitchen.
