JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for category strategy of Capex & Opex in APAC region.
- Responsible for the supply management activities for all categories and sub categories of Capex and Opex in APAC which include Engineering Services Constructions Utilities Lab Supplies MRO R&D Solutions and Investment Recovery.
- Drive One Abbott Procurement vision across divisions and influence synergies in buying decisions. Work closely with key stakeholders in both Corporate and Division organizations to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.
- Nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner helping identify critical business requirements and providing sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations
Core Job Responsibilities
- Support Category Director in managing the spend base for Capex and Opex procurement in APAC. Regional spend of about $350MM annually.
- Conducting RFP for Capex/ Opex
- Technically evaluating vendors quotes with reference to specification required.
- Making comparative analysis negotiation and coordinating with legal team for contracts.
- Execution of category strategies and manage implementation plan and timeline with stakeholders.
- Ensures compliance with the corporate policies around procurement process ethics health and safety etc.
- Work closely with manufacturing sites in APAC act as their business partners in suppliers evaluations and negotiations.
- Continually look for opportunities for cost reductions cost avoidance and value enhancements.
- Support cross divisional business initiatives and explore Procurement synergies and efficiencies
- Drive Total Cost of Ownership.
- Manage category projects across business unit and division wide when and where applicable. Participate in business projects based on category expertise
- Lead project teams responsible for selection of category strategy
Key Competency Requirement
- Take ownership for individual targets on local regional and global levels.
- Take ownership in projects management and executions.
- Integrity ability to drive robust diligence in the entire source to purchase process.
- Strong project management skills time management when handling multi time- competing tasks.
- Analytical skills should cost modelling to drive TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
- Stakeholders (internal) and Suppliers (external) management skills.
- Strategic thinking ability to identify opportunities drive innovative thinking
- Results oriented and self driven.
- Team player
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficient in English and one other language (Chinese Korean or Japanese)
- Technical knowledge in Operational Services categories or experience working in manufacturing sites
- Ability to travel : Approx. 20%
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Education & Experience:
- Minimum Graduate Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering
- 8 years of Procurement and deep Category management experience
- MBA desired but not a must.
