Job Summary:

The Multi-modality Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations across multiple specialties including abdominal obstetrics/gynecology cardiac vascular musculoskeletal and small parts. The sonographer evaluates patient history determines the appropriate imaging procedure and ensures accurate diagnostic imaging. The role requires independent judgment technical knowledge and a strong commitment to patient care and safety.

Responsibilities:

Perform basic to advanced ultrasound imaging procedures in multiple modalities (e.g. abdominal OB/GYN cardiac vascular MSK).
Review and assess patient history and clinical indications to determine appropriate imaging techniques.
Tailor and expand ultrasound exams based on preliminary findings and clinical necessity.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.
Ensure proper patient identification preparation and safety throughout procedures.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic information.
Document and maintain accurate patient records exam data and sonographic images.
Adhere to all infection control safety and compliance standards within the imaging department.
Provide guidance and support to less experienced sonographers or trainees if applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
OR
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience beyond entry-level qualifications

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of clinical sonography experience required

Licenses/Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS): Must be current or obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer
Must possess at least TWO of the following certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS)
- ARRT-S (Sonography)
- ARRT-VI (Interventional Radiology)
- Musculoskeletal Sonography (MSK)
- Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-PE)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen (RDMS-AB)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Breast (RDMS-BR)
- RDMS Fetal Echocardiography (RDMS-FE)
- RDMS OB/GYN (RDMS-OB)
- RDMS Pediatric Sonography (RDMS-PS)
- Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
