STATUS: Per Diem

LOCATION: Newark-Wayne Community Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Radiology

SCHEDULE: Per Diem

On call: 1 weekend a month.

SUMMARY

As a Sonographer you play an important part in high-quality imaging exams needed to deliver quality care to our patients.


The Rochester Regional Health Imaging and Radiology team is led bysubspecialty and board-certified radiologists nurses and technicians providing the highest quality diagnostic and treatment imaging services to the Western Central and Finger Lakes New York communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ultrasound Scans. Perform abdominal vascular OB/GYN and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans; produce ultrasound images and obtain all required measurements; assist attending physicians with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance

  • Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

  • Documentation. Note performance of scans in patient charts and complete preliminary reporting; phone preliminary reports in to doctors offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist

  • Room Preparation. Clean stock and prepare the room daily.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate or a Bachelors Degree in Ultrasound is required

  • Required Licensure/Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking standing or squatting.

$35.00 - $47.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience relevant qualifications specialty internal equity location and contracts.
