Job Summary

Job Purpose & Key Accountabilities

The job holder is responsible for overseeing all Electrical Instrumentation and Telecom (EIT) activities during the Ruya Batch 1 EPCIC12 Riser Platform project execution at the worksite in Sohar Oman.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Safety: Complete all mandatory safety trainings (e.g. IF HSE Golden Rules). Demonstrate proactive safety behavior participate in toolbox meetings (TBM) and ensure that all site activities are executed safely. Actively engage in stop-work interventions for unsafe acts and report observations through positive/negative cards.

  • Quality: Ensure full compliance with company standards and project specifications. Coordinate with the construction team to achieve quality KPIs.

  • Drawings & Procedures: Review and verify all EIT drawings (AFC shop drawings as-built) and execution procedures to ensure readiness for fabrication and installation. Lead the contractor in preparing and submitting as-built drawings in a timely manner.

  • Materials & Storage: Monitor the delivery and inspection of EIT materials upon receipt. Ensure materials and equipment are properly stored in accordance with project standards and vendor recommendations.

  • EIT Organization: Define the responsibilities of EIT Supervisors and support their recruitment and mobilization. Allocate supervisors efficiently across work fronts to ensure inspection and installation coverage.

  • Fabrication: Supervise the contractors EIT workforce and resources. Oversee fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications. Report daily manpower to the Construction Head and coordinate resolutions for EIT-related issues.

  • Pre-Commissioning: Lead pre-commissioning activities in line with project specifications ensuring timely completion of punch lists and readiness based on the baseline schedule.

  • Communication: Maintain clear communication channels with contractor counterparts. Conduct daily toolbox meetings to prioritize short- and long-term activities.

  • Meetings & Reporting: Conduct weekly coordination meetings with the contractor report progress and areas of concern and maintain regular communication with the Construction Head.

Key Activities

  • Promote adherence to safety procedures and company values in all operations.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all project information.

  • Review drawings material availability specifications job instructions and tools prior to execution.

  • Approve contractor method statements within area of expertise.

  • Ensure all E&I materials certifications and installations comply with project specifications data sheets and drawings.

  • Oversee fabrication and installation of technical buildings equipment and E&I works as per approved documentation.

  • Verify that all equipment installation and cabling activities meet project requirements codes and safety standards.

  • Provide technical guidance on construction changes technical queries (TQs) and engineering clarifications.

  • Monitor contractors daily and weekly progress against schedule identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.

  • Ensure labor resource plans align with approved mobilization schedules and project timelines.

  • Verify contractor personnel qualifications ensuring sufficient experience and safety training.

  • Identify and follow up on non-conformities (NCRs) and review manufacturing record books.

  • Confirm completeness of as-built drawings and final documentation for proper handover to the commissioning team.

  • Coordinate closely with pre-commissioning commissioning and other disciplines (Structural PVV ICSS/INS HSE HVAC).

  • Ensure all E&I tasks are registered in ICAPS and that the Permit to Work system is implemented correctly.



Requirements

Qualifications Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Construction.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 15 years of experience in offshore piping and fabrication within oil and gas projects.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in fixed platforms (topside and/or jacket).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Familiar with international standards and company specifications.

  • Experience with Ex (ATEX EEHA) systems.

  • Strong leadership communication and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented multicultural environment.

  • Fluent in English and computer literate.

  • Available for global technical missions as required.
