Patient Escort Supervisor Full-Time (Evening Shift)

Location: Union Hospital
Shift: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
Schedule: Includes working every other weekend and participation in the holiday rotation

About the Role

ChristianaCare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Patient Escort Supervisor to join our team at Union this vital leadership role you will oversee Patient Escort Services Environmental Services and Textiles operations to ensure safe efficient and compassionate transport of patients and materials throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Patient Escort Services staff with a focus on dispatch operations.
• Manage incoming transport requests prioritize tasks and dispatch personnel using two-way radios or pagers.
• Align transport schedules with patient treatment plans and on-demand needs.
• Monitor staff performance provide coaching and support professional development.
• Maintain accurate records of daily operations equipment usage and incident reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• Foster positive relationships with hospital departments patients and visitors.
• Serve as a role model for service excellence and ChristianaCares Core Values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in patient transport or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage dispatch systems and coordinate complex schedules.
• Comfortable using radios pagers and basic computer applications.
• Must pass a back evaluation examination.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform occasional lifting pushing and pulling.
• Exposure to various weather conditions cleaning agents and hospital environments.
• Frequent use of headsets and handwashing required.
• Occasional contact with bodily fluids and infectious materials.
