Are you passionate about inclusive education and making a difference in the lives of children and young people with physical disabilities and complex medical needs

We are looking for a dedicated and experiencedAdvisory Teacherto join ourPhysical and Sensory Support Teamwithin the SEND Education Support Service (SENDESS). This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive practices across early years settings schools and colleges in Havering.

What Youll Do:

  • Provide expert advice coaching and training to schools and SENCOs on inclusive practices and Haverings SEND procedures.
  • Support children and young people with physical disabilities medical needs and complex SEND directly in educational settings.
  • Contribute to Education Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments.
  • Promote person-centred planning and ensure the voice of the child is central to all support.
  • Collaborate with professionals across education health and social care to deliver cohesive family-centred support.
  • Play an active part on the use of Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools.
  • Deliver training on adapted PE risk assessments medical management and more.

What Were Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)with further qualifications or CPD in SEND.
  • Proven experience supporting children with physical disabilities medical needs and using AAC/AT.
  • Strong understanding of the Social Model of Disability and inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
  • A solution-focused empathetic and proactive approach.
