M&J is growing in the DC/MD/VA Region!M&J is expanding its Construction Management and Inspection Services into Washington DC Maryland and Virginia and were looking for talented professionals to join our team!We currently have a business development office in Rockville MD and are actively building our local technical team to support upcoming transportation infrastructure projects. If you have experience in VDOT MDOT DDOT or WMATA construction inspection and management we want to hear from you!

We are seeking multiple highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Inspectors to oversee field inspection activities on major construction projects. This role involves supervising inspection teams ensuring strict adherence to project specifications and coordinating with contractors engineers and project stakeholders. The Senior Inspectors will serve as a subject matter expert mentor junior inspectors and contribute to quality assurance safety and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform complex field inspections of construction work to ensure conformance with plans specifications codes and applicable regulations.

  • Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level inspectors; provide technical guidance and support.

  • Monitor contractor activities and report progress delays and non-compliance issues.

  • Review and interpret construction documents (plans specs submittals RFIs change orders).

  • Maintain and audit daily reports inspection logs material test results and photographic documentation.

  • Coordinate with project engineers contractors clients and other stakeholders to resolve field issues.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards environmental requirements and quality control procedures.

  • Participate in or lead pre-construction meetings progress meetings and punch list walks.

  • Validate pay quantities evaluate contractor claims and assist with final acceptance documentation.

  • Conduct or oversee testing (e.g. concrete soil asphalt) and inspections (e.g. structural civil utility).

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in construction management engineering or a related field preferred.

  • Experience with VDOT MDOT DDOT or WMATA construction projects preferred.

  • Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge specifications and OSHA safety standards.

  • 6 years of progressive field inspection experience in construction or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong understanding of civil/site/structural construction methods and materials.

  • Proficient in interpreting plans specifications and contract documents.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to lead field teams and interface effectively with contractors and engineers.

  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
