Job Summary
Our client is a forerunner in the shipbuilding industry. It is seeking to employ an
experienced professional to join them as
Principal Engineer (Marine) Structural Details Design (Ref:
KHXXXX)
The successful candidate will independently develop structural designs that comply with
Class and Technical specification requirements within the assigned schedule.
The Job
As Project Lead he will be responsible for delivering the respective project design
drawings and documents according to project plan schedule.
Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement
compliance review and approval.
Review external designers pre-contract technical specifications general
arrangement and drawing lists.
Perform FE analysis using FEMAP is an advantage.
Review project team members drawings calculations or documents prior to
submission.
Perform structural calculation rudder calculation and design.
Prepare optimized arrangement & detail structure concept.
Prepare sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special
material/construction rudder etc.)
Coordinate with detail designer / production designer and check their processes
and output.
Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and
visiting on-site if needed.
The Candidate
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry with
Structure newbuilding engineering design.
Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline
Familiar with AutoCAD/ Microsoft Office/ AVEVA/ FEMAP
Good communication and analytical skills
