What Youll Do as a DSP

As a Direct Support Professional youll play a key role in helping individuals with I/DD gain life skills independence and confidence. Your daily support helps people lead richer more connected lives.

Your responsibilities include:

• Building trusting relationships with the people you support
• Helping individuals meet personal social and workplace goals
• Supporting communication self-advocacy and community engagement
• Providing guidance at job sites or during daily living tasks
• Encouraging independence through positive reinforcement and skill-building
• Collaborating with families support staff and professionals
• Ensuring accurate documentation and health/safety monitoring
• Embracing training and ongoing learning opportunities

What You Need to Join the Team

• Must be 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid drivers license insurance and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass background and registry checks
• Willingness to assist with personal care when needed
• Physical ability to lift or assist clients (based on individual needs)
