The Opportunity
Join our dynamic team as aHead of Marketing in theEnglish Africa Cluster (EAC). As the Head of Marketing / Marketing Manager for the English Africa Cluster you will lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives across both OTC and Rx portfolios. This role is pivotal in driving brand growth market share and customer engagement across diverse markets in the EAC region ensuring alignment with global strategies and local market dynamics.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop and implement cluster-wide marketing strategies aligned with global and regional objectives.
- Lead product launches and lifecycle management across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Define and manage marketing budgets ensuring optimal resource allocation and profitability.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends opportunities and competitive threats.
- Analyze sales performance market share and customer insights to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with sales and cross-functional teams to develop integrated business plans.
- Oversee a multi-product portfolio ensuring optimal positioning pricing and promotional strategies.
- Drive innovation and differentiation in marketing campaigns tailored to local market needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) healthcare professionals and institutional stakeholders.
- Represent the company in external engagements conferences and strategic partnerships.
- Lead coach and develop a high-performing marketing team across the cluster.
- Builds a strong team by identifying recruiting and retaining talent
- Foster a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with corporate values ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years experience within a Senior marketing leader position within the pharmaceutical industry having managed a team is essential (510 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing including leadership roles.)
- Experience in Cardiovascular/Diabetes Antibiotic and/or related pharmaceutical therapeutic areas will be an advantage
- Proven success in managing diverse product portfolios and launching new products
- Strategic Thinking Ability to align marketing plans with broader business goals and long-term vision.
- Market Analysis Skills Understanding market dynamics customer needs and competitive landscape to inform planning.
- Forecasting & Budgeting Skills Creating realistic sales forecasts allocating resources efficiently and managing budgets.
- Cross-functional Collaboration Working with sales medical regulatory and finance teams to ensure cohesive execution.
- Performance Monitoring Setting KPIs tracking progress and adjusting plans based on results and market feedback.
- Risk Management Ability Anticipating challenges and developing contingency plans.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare landscape private and tender across EAC markets.
- Experience in digital marketing and omnichannel engagement is a plus.
Education :
Tertiary qualification in Marketing Or Scientific OR Related study is essential.
