Heres What You Need
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
Associated degree is preferred
Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required
3 years of experience in a medical setting is required
1 year of supervisory experience is preferred
PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician Upon Hire is preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Strong critical thinking problem solving and organizational skills.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
Prefer: Venipuncture skills with all age groups.
What You Will Do
Follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection handling and processing in a manner which is appropriate to the age of the patient.
Coordinates workflow for phlebotomy/processing department to maximize efficiency
Participates in orientation and training of new employees and students
Attend continuing education seminars webinars reads articles or otherwise demonstrates continuing education related to profession equal to 6 hours
Participates in system entity or departmental performance improvement activities internal laboratory committees professional organizations or hospital sponsored community service activities
