Job Summary

Introduction

We at the Potomac Center/SETT facility provide qualityperson-centered support to adults with intellectual disabilities at our campusin Hagerstown Maryland. Our aim is to partner with the community to help ourresidents achieve their goals.

The Potomac Center is a 62-bed licensed Intermediate CareFacility (ICF). This program focuses on using therapeutic interventions toempower residents as they learn the skills they need to successfully return tocommunity living.

The Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment (SETT)Program located within the Potomac Center campus is a 32-bed licensedForensic Residential Center that provides services to individuals withintellectual disabilities and court involvement within a safe and secureenvironment. The program provides assistance as they resolve their courtinvolvement and work toward transitioning to a less secured environment. TheSETT utilizes active treatment as well as providing evaluation assessment andcompetency attainment education.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to assure all staff of the Potomac Center and SETT receive and successfully complete all relevant and quality training as per Federal and State Regulations as well as the needs of the facility and the individual who resides at the Potomac Center/SETT. This position will work directly with the Facility Training Coordinator who is responsible for ensuring the tracking of all training and the collection and maintenance of all relevant training documentation in a staff-specific filing position must at all times discharge all duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws regulations policies and protocols including those mandated/issued by Departments of Budget and Management and Health; Office of Health Care Quality; Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services ICF/IID; Annotated Code of Maryland; CODE OF MARYLAND REGULATIONS; and Potomac Center and SETT policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Six years of experience planning and conducting employee development and training.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience planning conducting or coordinating training or staff development activities for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in education and training classification or education and training specialty codes in the education and training field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Thedesired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience delivering training and/or educational programs
  • Knowledge of adult learning styles and how to incorporate them during training sessions
  • Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills
