Johnson County Government is seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join our Childrens Services Program. The Clinician will work as part of a treatment team and provide clinical services to individuals with severe mental illness including mood disorders. The focus is on recovery primarily using the Strengths Based Model of practice. This position will not begin until December 21 2025 or later. First review of applications will be October 27.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
Responsible for conducting prior authorization evaluations for clients requiring admission to a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) and for serving as the primary liaison to ensure coordinated care and communication throughout the duration of the clients placement.
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments during intakes ongoing services and crisis intervention.
Develop and implement complex treatment and intervention plans.
Provide psychotherapy and other therapeutic services to individuals groups and families.
Complete and submit clinical documentation evaluating and documenting progress.
Providing clinical consultation and crisis intervention support to staff members and serving as the back-up to clinicians and the Team Leaders.
Job Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
Masters degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or other Human Services field and Kansas Behavioral Sciences licensure* at the masters level in the area of focus are required. May require a KS/MO drivers license depending on department or agency.
*Applicants who meet Kansas licensure requirements may be considered if Kansas licensure is obtained by time of an employment offer and licensure is pending confirmation at the time of employment application.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Kansas Behavioral Sciences license at the clinical level and one year of experience in the area of focus is preferred.
Physical Environmental and Special Working Conditions:
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
