Job Summary
Summer Underwriting Internship in Charleston SC
Dates: May 18 2026 through July 31 2026
Compensation: Weekly Stipend & Lodging
Education Requirement: Undergraduate - Risk Management & Insurance Majors or Business Majors preferred
Qualifications: Full-time students juniors or seniors enrolled in a business curriculum and in good academic standing with a sincere interest in pursuing an insurance industry career
Description:
Interns spend eleven weeks working in our Personal Lines or Commercial Lines departments as an Associate Underwriter or Associate Broker. A successful internship along with a strong culture fit will present an opportunity to return to work upon graduation in a similar capacity.
- Gain knowledge of various products from top rated companies.
- Obtain hands-on experience with information technology and standard operating procedures specific to a Managing General Agent.
- Gain exposure to building relationships with independent agents within thevarious J&J territories.
- Be introduced to creative marketing techniques specific to the wholesale insuranceindustry.
- Interns are provided an opportunity to experience sales and marketing efforts specific to Johnson & Johnson:
- Participate in agency visits/sales calls with underwriters and field marketing representatives.
- Attendmeetings or events with agency partners and company representatives.
