12/05/2025Special Education Administrator provides leadership and supervision for Special Education in the administration of all applicable Special Education laws policies procedures and practices; assists the Special Education leadership team in the operations of the office and its related functions; provides support for administrators and Special Education staff members.The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required. Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
Assists in the recruitment and selection of Special Education staff
Assists the Special Education executive leadership team in collaborating with principals in planning and developing Special Education staffing services and programming
Assists the Special Education executive leadership team in monitoring evaluating and improving instructional practices in the districts Special Education programs through formal and informal assessments and the thorough analysis of data
Assures IEPs reflect individual programming to meet unique student needs
Collaborates with district departments school administration and Special Education team members to ensure compliance with and administration of all applicable Special Education laws policies procedures and practices regarding individualized programming to meet unique student needs
Develops and implements professional learning opportunities to increase staff expertise in delivering specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs Special Education processes and indicators as directed
Develops proposals monitors and reports on funding matters regarding state and federal Special Education resources including preschool budgeting
Ensures accurate and timely submission of local state and federal reports
Ensures effectiveness through ongoing integration of technology
Ensures Special Education policies procedures and practices as well as monitoring consistent district-wide application
Ensures the effective communication between staff and families
Fosters a respectful responsive and service-oriented work environment
Leads and facilitates assigned team meetings orientations and committee work
Leads the establishment and maintenance of a positive respectful and caring working and learning environment
Participates in district and community projects and assignments as requested
Promotes student and staff member physical social and emotional wellness
Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned district programs and areas of responsibility
Provides leadership in the identification of best practices professional learning and ongoing program evaluation
Provides monitoring guidance and professional learning to administrators and supervisors regarding Special Education laws regulations and policies
Provides on-site administrative presence for Briargate Pre-School
Provides problem-solving assistance in support of administrators and supervisors
Provides staff with technical assistance and coaching related to performance concerns as requested by administrators
Provides supervision and evaluation for assigned Special Education staff and programs and other areas as determined by the Executive Director for Special Education
Serves as a resource to district staff for Special Education issues
Supports planning hiring and supervision for the Extended School Year (ESY) program

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g. B.A. A.B. B.S.)
5 Years Special Education Teaching Experience
Principal License: Initial - Colorado Department of Education
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree (e.g. M.A. M.S. M.S.W. M.B.A. M.L.S.)
3-5 Years Special Education Administrator Experience
Administrator License: Initial: Special Education Director - Colorado Department of Education
Salary Placement: Based on job relevant experience only
