Shulman Rogers seeks a Paralegal with Virginia dental (preferred) and/or medical malpractice background to join its Medical Malpractice/Personal Injury Department. This position is located in our Alexandria VA office.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drafts and reviews letters court correspondence pleadings motions discovery requests discovery responses expert designations and case filings.
- Schedules depositions meetings and court appearances
- Conducts legal and background research
- Tracks and maintains an organized log of case expenses and client medical costs as well as the due dates of discovery responses and motion responses statutes of limitations expert designation hearing dates and trial dates
Qualifications and Skills:
- A bachelors degree and/or paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant VA dental (preferred) or medical malpractice litigation experience
- Proven legal research skills; proficiency with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis is preferred
Applicants must possess strong research writing and analytic skills as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
