POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for teaching a career and technical education program that meets the Washington State Frameworks and Bellevue School District approved guidelines. The CTE Culinary Teacher will work with departments and schools within the district.

Teach a Family and Consumer Science Program that meets the Washington State Frameworks and Bellevue School District Guidelines
Incorporate relevant rigorous and challenging learning activities in daily lessons
Develop and carry out meaningful relevant learning experiences for a widely diverse group of high school students.
Meet Career and Technical Education Leadership and Advisory Council expectations
Contribute toward development and implementation of district wide Family and Consumer Science Education curriculum which includes logistical support and purchasing of food and supplies.
Complete all student progress systems assignments test progress reports report cards and parent conferences
Adapt lessons to the skills and needs of a diverse student population.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to and is supervised by the building Principal.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
Required
Possess a State of Washington Career and Technical Education Certificate or be eligible for a Conditional CTE certification with V code: V200493.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):

Work with students from a variety of backgrounds in a productive innovative and supportive manner
Employ multiple and challenging teaching strategies
Maintain positive working relationships with students staff and parents
Perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and District and legal requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts odors chemicals extreme temperatures inadequate lighting workspace restrictions and intense noises.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
$ 73900 to $ 138754 annual salary (based on the negotiated collective bargaining agreement salary schedule. Certificated staff work the school year contract with placement on the District and BEA bargaining agreementsalary schedule). Placement on the schedule is determined by training and experience.
Medical dental vision long-term disability and life-insurance eligibility is based upon .45 FTE. Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.

Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed. The successful candidate for this position must be fingerprinted. Employment is contingent upon clearance by Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation
