MacKillop Education Waranara School is an Independent Special Assistance School years 9-12. It caters for students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. The students referred to Waranara have a history and/or ongoing experience of trauma and their needs are complex and diverse; self-regulation is difficult for our students and this can result in challenging social and emotional behaviours.

About the role:
This position is situated withinMacKillop Education. The position will be based at MacKillop Education Waranara School. The aim of the Learning Support Assistant is to enhance the classroom learning and wellbeing of students in partnership with the Teacher. Learning Support Assistants play a key role in engaging students in the classroom co-regulating with students when dysregulated and doing a myriad of administrative duties to support learning in the classroom. Learning Support Assistants may be required to work with students individually and in small groups across the school programs
