Job Summary: Our compassionate detailed and patient centric Pharmacist will assist our mission in providing patient care second to none! The Pharmacist will contribute to maximizing patient safety ensuring medication best practices are followed and serves as a resource to the Hospitals professionals. The Pharmacist operates in a team atmosphere with our Pharmacy Director Pharmacy Technicians and other Pharmacists through activities such as sterile compounding medication reconciliation dispensing pharmaceuticals and working with patient profiles. The Pharmacist will also interact with other Hospital professionals such as Doctors Surgeons and Nurses through professional interactions championing safe clinical practices and uses of medication. Desired candidates have a passion for patient care experience sharing resources and knowledge and have experience adhering to a high level of quality and compliance. Job Duties:- Provides services within the licensure of a pharmacist in the state of Michigan to include the acquisition storage and dispensing of pharmaceuticals ordered by prescribers
- Reviews orders maintains patient profiles and evaluates drug/food interactions to assure effective and cost efficient dosing
- Supervises pharmacy technicians in sterile compounding and medications preparation
- Provides pharmacokinetics pain management antimicrobial and other drug therapy consults as requested
- Provides medication reconciliation on admission to the Hospital changes in levels of care and on discharge
- Provides immunizations to employees and patients as required
- Provides assistance to codes (cardiac arrest stroke malignant hypothermia etc.) as needed
- Dispenses outpatient prescriptions to discharge and clinic patients
- Adheres to all standards regulations and laws outlined by the Michigan Board of Pharmacy DEA USP CMS and the Joint Commission governing bodies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: - Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Holds a degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy
- Current unrestricted pharmacist and controlled substance licenses in the State of Michigan
- Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 residency or two years of hospital experience including one year of ICU and/or Operating Room experience
- Current BLS Licensure or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
- APHA Immunization certification or equivalent
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Previous experience within similar environment is strongly preferred
- Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement
- Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers to exhibit patient care second to none
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and drive
- Exudes respect and flexibility to impact the workplace in a positive manner
- Detailed oriented conscientious and committed to precision in work results
