Job Description:

Hitachi Railis looking for an enthusiastic motivated Intern Procurement Analytics for Summer 2026. The position is based inHagerstown MD.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis visualization and strategic sourcing within a global organization. You will work closely with procurement professionals to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive smarter purchasing decisions and improve supplier performance.

Responsibilities

  • Extract clean and analyze procurement data from ERP systems such asSAPandJaggaer as well as supplier portals and spend analytics tools.
  • Identify patterns trends and anomalies in spend data to support strategic sourcing and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Design and maintaininteractive dashboards in Power BIto visualize key procurement metrics including spend distribution supplier performance contract compliance and category trends.
  • Ensure dashboards are user-friendly and tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build predictive models to forecast demand pricing fluctuations and supply availability using historical data and market trends.
  • Support scenario planning and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders to support decision-making.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency inMicrosoft Excel(pivot tables VLOOKUPs macros) andPower BI(data modeling DAX).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes supplier management or ERP systems is a plus.

Education:

  • Currently pursuing aBachelors or Masters degreeinBusiness AnalyticsSupply Chain ManagementFinanceEconomics or a related field with a graduation date between December 2026 and December 2027.

In accordance with the DOTs FRA and FTA programs Hitachis substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees as required for safety-sensitive positions.

The hourly pay for this position is$25 per hour.
